Chef Manager

£32,000.00 per annum



At Foodies we are privileged to be recruiting a talented Chef Manager to lead the team at a fabulous, multi-site Independent Day Schools in Blackburn, as part of a high-profile nationwide contract catering business specialising in education sites.

Our client provides a lunch service to 750 pupils plus teachers on a daily basis.

You will be working Monday to Friday working 44 weeks (39 weeks full operation then 5 weeks of menu writing| admin when the children are off). The salary on offer is circa £32000 (depending on experience) per annum – 40 hours per week.

You will need to come from a total fresh food background and be able to demonstrate your passion for fresh, quality seasonal produce. You will have excellent knowledge of modern food trends.

You will be responsible for a catering team of 20, managing both production and service operations reporting directly to the Operations Manager. Your day-to-day contact will be with our client, and you must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills with the ability to support and nurture a team and form strong relationships

Experience required: 

  • At least 3 year of Chef Manager experience within either B&I (contract catering) or education (contract catering)
  • Consideration will be given to a passionate head chef; you would need at least 3 years of Head Chef experience within either B&I (contract catering) or education (contract catering)
