My client has got an exciting Chef Manager opportunity at an Independent Boarding School in Robertsbridge, East Sussex.

My client feeds 300 children (2 to 13 years old) and staff per day across breakfast, lunch & dinner. You will also be providing a very high standard of hospitality. You will be managing a team of chefs, food service assistants & weekend team.

My client is looking for an amazing “foodie” Chef Manager for this position, you will have experience of producing high levels of hospitality.

You will need to come from a total fresh food background and be able to demonstrate your passion for fresh, quality seasonal produce. You will have excellent commercial awareness and be able to demonstrate this along with your knowledge of modern food trends.

The ideal candidate will have experience within either Education or B&I contract catering.

Location:

  • Robertsbridge, East Sussex

Salary & Benefits:

  • £30,000 per annum + £1,000 Bonus
  • Predominantly Monday to Friday – some weekends will be required to monitor the weekend team to ensure high standards levels remain across 7 days
  • 40 Hours Per Week
  • 39 working weeks of the year (2 weeks work will be required over the summer and a week at Easter)

Job Requirements & Key Skills:

  • Ensuring that service level agreements are achieved & customer and client expectations are met.
  • Ensuring that catering premises and equipment are maintained, clean and hygienic and that safe systems of work are in place
  • Managing, motivating and developing the team
  • Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed
  • Ensure that financial margins are being met and client budget being achieved through good management of the account
  • A real foodie, someone who will stand out for there passion
  • Fresh, seasonal food background with an understanding of modern food trends
  • A strong team player as well as someone who leads from the front
  • Experience of managing and developing a team
  • Experience of Microsoft packages (word, excel, outlook)
  • Strong craft skills
  • Excellent communication skills
