General Catering Manager Required – Sloane Square – London

My client has a unique opportunity for an experienced General Catering Manager to join them at one of there prestigious Independent Schools in Sloane Square, London.

As my clients General Catering Manager, you will be able to provide clear evidence of stable progression throughout your career. You will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working at Catering Manager level ideally within Independent Schools or B&I (contract catering)

The successful candidate will oversee the busy day to day catering operation providing breakfast, lunch & high volume of hospitality to 600 pupils, staff & visitors.

You will need to be commercially minded, have a critical eye for detail, phenomenal people skills and a real love for fresh seasonal produce.

Salary & Benefits

  • £38,000 per annum
  • Working 42 weeks of the year
  • Predominantly Monday to Friday (occasional weekend and evening work will be required due to the nature of the role)

Responsibilities and Key Points

  • At least two years as a General Catering Manager within Independent Schools or B&I (contract catering).
  • Experience of working in a high volume hospitality/events environment within contract catering at managerial level.
  • A high integrity and personal standards with the drive and determination to succeed
  • A strong, proactive team player approach with a track record of developing teams
  • An ability to innovate and delegate
  • Commercial and strategic acumen
  • To ensure budgets are achieved and exceeded wherever possible
  • Extensive experience in a multi-disciplined service environment
  • A love for fresh food and quality service
  • To be able to communicate at all levels efficiently
  • Ensuring food quality & standards of service are to company standards
  • All HSE & Food Safety meets company standards and UK legislation
  • Completing audits, compiling action plans and reports
  • To build strong and productive relationships
  • Ensuring completion of appraisals, investigations, coaching and all HR procedures providing support as required
  • Carry out all recruitment process interviews, inductions and team training as required
