Head Of Catering & Events

I am working on a fabulous Head of Catering & Events role for my client at a stunning Independent School in Oxfordhsire.

During term time the team cater for 500+ pupils & teachers across breakfast, lunch and dinner. Out of term the team cater for “lets” and high end events and conferences which include stunning wedding receptions.

This is a demanding but exciting role where the successful candidate will oversee the day to day catering operation, manage two deputy managers plus drive the commercial side of the business. This role would suit an exceptional “entrepreneur” who would drive the business forward as if it was there own.

The successful candidate will need to have worked in a Head of Catering or Operations & Events role for more than 3 years within either the contract catering sector or 5* hotels| conference centers . You will need to be commercially minded, have a critical eye for detail, phenomenal people skills and a real love for fresh seasonal food.

Salary & Benefits;

  • £45,000 to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Sales Incentive Bonus

Responsibilities and Key Points; 

  • At least three years in a Head of Catering or Operations & Events role.
  • Experience of managing a turnover in excess of 2 million per annum
  • A high integrity and personal standards with the drive and determination to succeed
  • A strong, proactive team player approach with a track record of developing teams
  • An ability to innovate and delegate
  • Commercial and strategic acumen
  • The ability to be able identify new opportunities and develop strategies
  • To ensure budgets are achieved and exceeded wherever possible
  • Extensive experience in a multi-disciplined service environment
  • In depth knowledge of weddings and high profile events
  • A love for fresh food and quality service – a real “Foodie”
  • To be able to communicate at all levels efficiently
  • Ensuring food quality & standards of service are to company & client standards
  • All HSE & Food Safety meets company & client standards and UK legislation
  • Completing audits, compiling action plans and reports
  • To build strong and productions relationships with your clients
  • Ensuring completion of appraisals, investigations, coaching and all HR procedures providing support as required
  • Carry out all recruitment process interviews, inductions and team training as required

Legal Requirements;

  • All candidates must be eligible to work in the UK
  • Clean Enhanced DBS will be required
  • 5 Years work reference check
  • Overseas Check
